What materials are available for custom guitars?

Material availability ranges based on the specific guitar model you are looking at purchasing. You can view all available options on the product page in the customizer or in the product specifications table.

Where are the guitars made?

All Johnny Foreigner Guitars are manufactured and assembled in Los Angeles, California. We do not manufacture overseas and pride ourselves on being made in the United States.

The only part of a Johnny Foreigner Guitar which is sourced from overseas are the pickups which were designed by world renowned guitar maker Matt Gleeson of Monty's Guitars in London, England.

How long does it take for a custom guitar to be built?

Current production times for a made-to-order custom guitar is 8 weeks.

We are working to increase the speed of this process as we grow as a company, but the biggest factor in the 8 week turn around time is the multiple paint coats and time for curing we dedicate to each Guitar. We want a guitars finish to last a lifetime and not fade away after a few years of normal use.

What types of pickups are available?

Johnny Foreigner Guitars have the option to come with Humbuckers, P90's, or Single Coil pickups.

What strings do Johnny Foreigner Guitars use?

We use String Joy strings for all of our guitars. When customizing your guitar you'll have the option to select a string type from the model of strings we offer.

Shopping & Shipping FAQ's

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, ShopPay, and PayPal. We also have partnered with Affirm and ShopPay Installments to offer split payment at checkout.

How long will it take for my order to ship?

Orders typically ship within 1-2 business days from the date the item is ready, but may take up to 3-5 business days during peak seasons. Once your order ships, you will receive an email with tracking information.

Please note for custom guitar orders, there is a 6-8 week turn around time for building your made-to-order guitar. Custom orders will ship 1-2 days after it is ready.

How much will shipping cost?

We offer free standard U.S. shipping on all Guitar purchases and free shipping on orders of $120 or more. If your order is less than $120, you can view the shipping options and costs during the checkout process before submitting your order.

Do you offer international shipping?

Unfortunately, we do not offer international shipping right now. We are working on expanding our shipping capabilities to service customers across the globe.

Can I cancel my order?

Custom guitar orders that have not yet started the build process can be cancelled, once we start building the guitar we will not be able to cancel the order.

For all other orders, we can only cancel your order before our team ships your order.

If you need to request a cancellation, please contact our customer service team as soon as possible.

What if my order arrives damaged or defective?

If there is an issue with your order or your order arrives damaged please contact our customers service team for support. We will work with you to find the best resolution for your issue.

Can I track my order?

Yes. Once your order ships, we will email you with courier tracking details for you to track your order.

With custom guitar orders you will receive tracking information once they ship, but for the period where the order is being built we will send you periodic updates about the building of your guitar.

Warranty & Return FAQ's

What is your Guitar return policy?

All Guitars have a 30 day return period with a money back guarantee. If you'd like to return a product after 30 days, please contact customer service and we can assist you with any warranty issues.

How long is the warranty period for guitars?

We offer a 2 year parts and labor warranty on all Johnny Foreigner Guitars.

What does the guitar warranty cover?

All guitar warranties cover parts and labor costs associated with repairs for manufacturer defects or damage caused by normal wear and tear. Warranties are good for 2 years from the date of purchase for all guitars.

How do I initiate a warranty claim?

Please contact our customer service team and let us know the issues your experiencing and your order number and we will happily assist you with your warranty claim.

What is the warranty process?

First initiate your warranty claim with our customer service team, you will need the following:

  • Order Number
  • Description of the issue
  • Photo's of the problem

Our customer service team will review this information, and if the damage id deemed to not be from mishandling of the guitar or intentional damage we will authorize the warranty claim.

From there, you will ship the guitar to our repair center where the parts will be secured for repair and the guitar will be repaired and tested within 2-8 weeks depending parts availability and if painting and curing are required. If the guitar needs a repaint, this will push the repair time closer to 8 weeks.

Once the repair is done, our team will test the guitar and certify it to be sent back to you. The guitar will be sent back full repaired and in almost brand new condition.

Do you offer gift wrapping or personalized messages?

Yes. We love to do everything we can to help you surprise a loved one with a dream guitar. Please contact our customer service team and we will see if we can facilitate your request.

Do I need an account to shop?

No. We do recommend creating an account to easily access your order history, but an account is not required.

How do I subscribe to the newsletter?

On the bottom of any page, there is a form to subscribe to our newsletter. If you want to unsubscribe, you can do so at the footer of any marketing email we send out.
